Start Ara sessions from a channel or thread by mentioning @Ara.

The Slack connection is in beta.

Ara’s Slack connection lets you start and follow work without leaving the conversation where it came up.

Connect Slack

Open Plugins in your Ara workspace and connect Slack. Each connected Slack team is bound to exactly one Ara workspace, so a message can only ever reach the workspace you authorized.

Start a session

Mention @Ara in a channel or thread and describe the task the way you would in Ara Cloud. Ara starts a session in the bound workspace and replies in Slack.

Follow the work

Follow-up replies and session progress stay in the same Slack thread, so a task reads as one conversation rather than scattered notifications. Each Slack-origin session message links back to the exact channel message that produced it, so you can always get from the session in Ara Cloud to the discussion that started it.

While a session runs, Ara replies with a line naming what it is doing right now, alongside a link to the session. The thread stays readable at a glance; open the session for the full picture, including its reasoning and the changes it made. When the session finishes, the same message becomes the answer.

Replying while a session is still running steers that session rather than starting a second one, so you can correct course mid-task the same way you would with a person.

Live session activity requires a paid Slack plan. On other plans a session still posts its result to the thread when it finishes.
